CONCEPTION AND DESIGN OF A HYBRID EXCITER FOR BRUSHLESS SYNCHRONOUS GENERATOR. APPLICATION FOR AUTONOMOUS ELECTRICAL POWER SYSTEMS

Summary. In this paper a hybrid excitation system for a brushless synchronous generator working with variable speed in an autonomous energy generation system (e.g. airplane power grid) is presented. A conception of a dual-stator hybrid exciter is proposed. Comparison study of classical and hybrid exciter has been carried out. For the electromagnetic calculation two approaches have been applied: analytical approach (based on the circuit model and sizing equations) and numerical approach (using field simulator FLUX2D). Provisional design calculations have been performed using the analytical approach. Next, to verify the calculation results and to optimise the magnetic and electric circuit of the machine, the field simulator FLUX2D has been used.

SYSTEM FOR MONITORING AND COMPENSATION OF SUPERCONDUCTING RESONANT CAVITIES DETUNING WITH PIEZOELECTRIC ELEMENTS

Summary. The paper presents mechatronic system for compensation and monitoring of superconducting resonant cavities detuning with piezoelectric elements. This system was installed and connected to all available piezo tuners in FLASH accelerator in research center of Hamburg. Moreover, the monitoring part of the system was used to measure signals from piezo tuner frames operated as sensors. The first data analysis and analytical fitting of derived transfer functions are briefly summarized.

DPC-3L-3AM CONTROL METHOD OF THREE-LEVEL AC/DC CONVERTER CONNECTED TO AC GRID

Summary. In the paper there is proposed a new DPC-3L-3Am (Direct Power Control 3 Levels 3 Area) control method for a three-level AC/DC converter. The DPC-δ 5x2 control method is described as well. The DPC-3L-3Am method is modification of the DPC-3Am method [1] making full use of increase in the number of active vectors of a three-level AC/DC converter. The DPC-3Am method is based on the DTC-3Am method [2] used in drives inverters. This paper contains the simulation results of both methods performed in the Matlab Simulink environment.

ALGORITHM FOR FINDING CUTS IN UNDIRECTED GRAPH

Summary. For finding cut set in undirected graph an enumerative algorithm is used. The algorithm finds such divisions of vertices which are a graph cut. The algorithm utilizes equivalence of cut representation in an undirected graph either as a division of vertices or a subset of the graph edge set . With use of this equivalence the graph cut set as a set of graph edges is found. A computer program implementing the algorithm is presented and comparison of work time in chosen undirected graphs is performed.

APPLICATION OF NEURAL NETWORK FOR IMPROVING THE DYNAMICS OF CONSTANT COMPONENT EXTRACTION

Summary. This paper presents application of neural networks to solution of signal filtration problem. It consists in constant component extraction during as short time period as possible. The paper describes how to deal with the design and optimization of a neural network which is able to solve the given task. The implementation of this problem has been addressed for the use of computational signal processing capabilities of DSP processor.

Summary. The presented paper is the result of research carried out at the Institute of Industrial Electrical Engineering and Informatics on the methods of analysis and improvement of power quality. There are described concepts and implementation of systems for remote monitoring of selected power quality parameters.

DIGITAL FILTRATION OF THE ANGULAR POSITION SIGNAL IN THE SIX-LEGGED WALKING ROBOT CONTROL SYSTEM

Summary. The paper contains the result of the research in digital filtration of the servo motor angular position used in walking robot application. The six-legged walking robot and the servo motor are described. The development environment used for the system identification is presented. The control and measurement signals are also explained and these signals scaling functions identification process is presented. Servo motor mathematical model is shown with short description of its synthesis process. The need for the filtration of the aliasing phenomenon is experimentally demonstrated. The results of the signal filtration with median filter are depicted. Additionally the finite response filter (FIR) is used for further signal smoothing. In conclusions, the list of advantages and disadvantages of the designed algorithm are discussed and proposals for further work as well.

ESTIMATION OF EQUIVALENT CIRCUIT PARAMETERS OF SQUIRRELCAGE INDUCTION MOTOTRS FROM FINITE ELEMENT COMPUTATIONS

Summary. The paper presents an algorithm for determination of parameters of an equivalent circuit model of the three-phase squirrel-cage induction motors. The approach presented in a simple way allows for considering nonlinearity and deep-bar effect. The parameters of an equivalent circuit model are determined directly from quasi-harmonic solution of the magnetic field distribution by the finite element method. Unlike common approach based on the use of multi-circuit equivalent circuit model of cage winding for deep-bar induction motors, this algorithm uses rotor winding model with only one branch. The parameters determined are, however nonlinear as their values cannot be fixed at constant values but must vary as machine point of operation changes with rotor slip. Sample results presented for two medium-power induction motors show adequacy of the approach. The method is also enough general to be applicable to the majority of threephase squirrel-cage induction motors.

DYNAMIC FEEDBACK STABILIZATION OF NONLINEAR RC LADDER NETWORK

Summary. The goal of this paper is to study stabilization techniques for a class of RC ladder networks. The system is an electrical circuit that consists of nonlinear resistors and capacitors. The circuit's dynamic behavior can be modeled by nonlinear differential equations. The problem is to determine the dynamic feedback control law that asymptotically stabilizes the system. It is shown that with a linear and nonlinear dynamic feedback control, the energy of the closed-loop system asymptotically decays to zero. The asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system is proved by LaSalle's invariance principle using appropriate Lyapunov function. The results of numerical computations are included to verify theoretical analysis and mathematical formulation.

BROKEN ROTOR BAR SYMPTOMS OF INDUCTION MACHINE WITH SENSORLESS CONTROL SYSTEM

Summary. This paper presents simulation and experimental investigation of induction motor drive with sensorless control system and asymmetric squirrel-cage machine. Asymmetry of the machine is related to broken rotor bars and end ring. The multiscalar control system has been considered as generalized method of vector control. As the result of investigation a new symptoms of broken rotor in sensorless control system variables has been shown. Closed-loop and sensorless control system compensating effect to mechanical state variables has been also presented. Sensorless control system variables analysis provides earlier detection of the fault comparing to machine state variables symptoms in open-loop operation.

PROTOTYPING OF CONTROL ALGORITHMS IN MATLAB/SIMULINK

Summary. The article presents basic principles of model-based design methodology an interesting new technique in the design of embedded systems. The authors use Matlab/Simulink system and MPC555 microcontroller to demonstrate a design of a discrete PID controller and an optimal LQ controller.
